ahhh... Jeremy... I feel like I've had this same experience so many times... and not just with creative careers. Marriage, child-reering, friendships. When our ideals and our expectations run the show, things can get ugly. When we accept "what is" and enjoy the moments that fill the space between our dreams we find real joy.

That being said, I'm all for dreaming and moving forward with those dreams. I'm also for working hard to see careers paths laboriously carved out of the rocky terrain. You are a talented dude who I see doing all of this.

Well, on the matter of being a peacemaker, it's important to remember that disagreeing is not the problem. Quarreling can be though. I enjoy debating and arguing points. It's one of the ways I learn from others. But, it's true that there comes a time when an argument can become a fight. It's at that point that the conversation should be shut down, in my opinion. I disagree often with many of my friends. But, as long as we remember that we truly love one another (and treat each other as such), those disagreements can broaden our knowledge base, and deepen our love for each other. Of course, being a passionate person, I can start to get heated. It's taken a long time for me to get in the habit of keeping that in check. Because if I don't, it becomes a fight.

I've learned that it's better to leave some things unsaid to avoid an angry exchange. That, to me, is being a peacemaker. Stick to your guns... but don't <em>use them!

Thanks Anthony. Yeah, that was definitely a big factor. Where I'm from, in Southern California, the music industry feels like a contest to see who can "out-cool" each other. Contacts are kept secret, and aloofness seems to be the number one approach to relationships. It's as different as night and day in Nashville. For the most part, everyone, regardless of their successes, approaches relationships within the business as an open family. This is something I love about the way it all works here.

Glad you're enjoying the blog!

I just looked at your spin video yesterday, haven't looked at the video about the war. I don't think a day has gone by when war hasn't happened and whilst trying to be a peacemaker often have arguments and quarrels with people which makes me think "how CAN I be a peacemaker?"

I agreed with everything you said about art. You have a great talent that, if you continue your philosophy in this way, will inevitably be used wisely. Your thoughts about sharing it are similar to mine although I have yet to make any money out of it.

Peace be with you and all your friends. Thanks for following me on twitter.

Just letting you know I'm reading your blogs and am enjoying them. Haven't read 'em all because I just found your website a few weeks ago though. Nashville is a good place to live for music community I hear. Is that why you chose to move there?

Yep, the good ol' days. I miss Palm Trees and warm winters. If the I-tunes songs are in regular MP3 form which doesn't require an Ipod (evil monopoly) then I'll probably download them when I can. Also, I'd like to get your new stuff you have on this website, but I'm having trouble with my paypal account. I bet I can work it out though.

I heard about you from a Facebook post that Tavo made. He just told me your name, and I acually saw you play in Temecula when you had your worship band. I suppose this is a rediscovery then.
