Controversy

There’s something about controversy. We like it. This is obvious because whatever is controversial we tend to focus on. Maybe it brings out the competitive side of us when someone disagrees with one thing or another.
Jeff, the director of my video I just shot, called me over for some early previews of the editing he’s doing. He knew my vision for the song, and caught the vision and put that into the treatment for the video beautifully. After viewing the middle section of the video, we discussed the controversy that could be created by my putting something like this out… especially if it were to be compared to things I’ve released in the past.
Although I don’t want to speak yet to what the song and video are directly about (I’d prefer to let you think on it a bit), I do hope you’ll pay attention to everything in it. I’m sure some of you won’t find it controversial at all. Others may. Either way, I’m hoping we can discuss it.
I’ll be available for online chats from time to time, as well as the usual social sites. And, of course, I’m always available in the Nashville area to get together. I’d love to get a conversation going with you. After all, we’re all in this together. And community is key.
